This is the official KICK-OFF event for Create+Play!
Did you know that community circles foster trust, promote inclusivity, lead to stronger relationships, and a greater sense of belonging?
Join other women as we play with circles together in the simplest ways to spark joy and creativity! We will start the evening with an improv activity to get out of our head and move into a creative space, then we will break into smaller groups to explore a make & take suncatcher project, childhood games like hula hoops, spirographs and more!
You will go home with memories of laughter, play, fun, and connectivity!
Round & Round will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Hint hint, this is the Thursday before Mother’s Day. This could be a super fun way to connect with your favorite mother!
Location: The Central Mix, 4028 Central Avenue N.E., Columbia Heights
Price: $35 per person, N/A and alcoholic beverages will be available for you to purchase during the event. There is a coffee shop inside The Central Mix called The Fixx. They have beverages and food.
Parking: There is a community ramp that is free of charge behind The Central Mix.

The mission of Create+Play is to offer events for women that are inspiring, enriching, creative, and fun. These events are intended to draw women together to facilitate social connectivity and offer women a non-judgmental forum to lift each other up and foster positive growth and opportunity.
Our classes and events are led by local artists and makers who share their craft, expertise, and vision with us. As we collaborate with our talented women artists we strive to ensure that they are paid fairly for their time and that when classes are held in their studios they have the opportunity to share their art with event participants. We want to support their endeavors as they support us women in our personal growth.

Join artist Anna Palmquist of Stargirl Art for a relaxed and playful evening of collage-making as visual journaling, where creativity becomes your voice, and there’s no wrong way to express yourself!
Through playful prompts and simple collage techniques, you’ll:

Create+Play With Artist Mary Pow
Come play in the studio with artist Mary Pow. Learn to let go of self-criticism and get in touch with your creative self. Mary will lead the group in an afternoon of drawing and community building. Take home a beautiful pastel piece of art created especially by you.
